Dear community,
Welcome to a bright new year! In December we set a goal to raise $40,000 to support and expand our programs that engage youth in the work of building a better world. Thanks to you and members of our Leadership Circle Matching Fund (including Balcones Recycling, Frost Bank, and Love Tito’s), we exceeded this goal and raised $42,775! We are grateful to every donor who believes in the power of youth to bring about change in their communities.
With this forward momentum, EcoRise is excited to share our next three-year strategic plan: Vision 2025. Vision 2025 is a roadmap for transforming K–12 education by supporting educators, activating youth, and centering climate justice. During this time of global uncertainty and change, there is an unprecedented opportunity to redesign our world to reflect our shared values and boldest dreams. And we believe youth are perfectly positioned to lead the way. This is why our Vision 2025 focuses on actualizing schools as crucial hubs for climate resilience, environmental justice, and student-driven innovation, where new generations of young leaders are galvanized to build healthy, just, and thriving communities for all.
Building upon years of transformational work with K–12 teachers and students, our Vision 2025 focuses our efforts on the following impact areas:
Elevating youth voices
With a focus on civic engagement and green career pathways, EcoRise is providing opportunities for a diverse network of student leaders to influence environmental policy, cultivate climate resilience, and participate in the new green economy.
Expanding educational programs
EcoRise is enriching and expanding our K–12 offerings with an emphasis on customized teacher support that advances local community action and environmental justice.
Advancing systems change
Through strategic partnerships, data, and technology, EcoRise aims to accelerate the movement for climate resilience and equity in K–12 schools and build coalitions at the district, state, and national levels.
Building a thriving organization
EcoRise invests in the growth of our team and our school programs through continuous reflection and data-informed improvements with a deep commitment to building an inclusive, diverse organization that advances equity both internally and externally.
