Dear Friends:
As we enter the start of the school year, I am thrilled to share some excellent news. EcoRise has been awarded a $250,000 grant from Salesforce in support of our continued expansion in the Northeast! Specifically, Salesforce funding will allow EcoRise to:
- expand our environmental education programs in New York City and Washington, DC, and launch a new program hub in Boston, MA.
- train and support over 200 K–12 educators, like Sabina Malkani, in the region this year.
- provide 11,200 students the opportunity to design sustainability projects that have a measurable impact on the environmental, social, and economic pillars of sustainability.
- advance our core value of equity, ensuring that 70% of the students served are classified as students of color and economically disadvantaged.
We are excited to partner with Salesforce, a company that shares our vision and is widely recognized as a global leader in the field of sustainability and innovation. Learn more about Salesforce’s commitment to climate action and their support of EcoRise and organizations across the U.S. in this press release.
We can’t wait to get started! On September 25th, EcoRise and Salesforce will host a climate-education-focused professional development (PD) workshop for NYC teachers. Teachers can learn more and register for EcoRise PD opportunities across the country here.
On behalf of our students, teachers, and staff, thank you for your support of our work! Together, #WeRise,
Jon Stott
Executive Director
