Overview

After analyzing their waste habits at school, students at Lyndon B. Johnson Middle School we amazed at how many plastic water bottles were thrown away each day. Groups of students from 6th, 7th, and 8th grade worked together to apply for enough grant money to provide a filtered, reusable water bottle to every student in the school! Their work will diver more than 150 pounds of plastic from the landfill and save the school thousands of dollars in disposable water bottle costs each year.
