The 2015-16 school year is a BIG one for us! We’re growing in ways that we could only dream of eight years ago, and we’ve got so much to share with you, we’re going to break it down into a list of our most exciting “jump up-and-down on the first day of school” kind of news:
1. ECORISE IS ONLINE AROUND THE WORLD.
We teamed up with The USGBC’s Center for Green Schools to launch our new and improved Sustainable Intelligence curriculum on a new online platform, the Learning Lab. This interactive digital platform allows us to launch internationally this year in 26 countries (and counting).
2. HABLAMOS ESPAÑOL.
When you visit the platform you’ll find our K-12 curriculum is now in English AND Spanish, thanks to our partners at RIS and the Instituto Thomas Jefferson in Mexico City. This completely bilingual teaching tool is now available to all of our teachers and includes cultural adaptations and standards alignment for the US and Mexico.
3. HELLO EAST COAST.
EcoRise has been hard at work to streamline the services that we bring to educators and students, which paid off in a big way. We can’t wait to spread the TEACH. GROW. CONNECT. IMPACT. model to more teachers in Boston & Washington, D.C., thanks to a national Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grant!
4. BIG DREAMS IN THE LONE STAR STATE.
Just because we’re expanding, doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten our Texas roots. Thanks to the support of H-E-B & The Meadows Foundation, we’ve trained over 100 teachers across the state on how to champion environmental literacy and innovation in their classrooms. Just a few weeks into the school year, we are excited to hear the teachers’ rave reviews and are still roundin’ up more teachers and schools to join us this year.
5. THEY REALLY LIKE US.
Each year the Austin Young Chamber of Commerce presents their top local picks, and this year we’ve been nominated as Austin’s FAVE Local Non-Profit. It’s an honor to be among some really great organization, but that means we need your help to win— Please vote for us by clicking here and sharing with your network!
Pretty exciting stuff, right? And that’s only the beginning!
Our success and growth would not be possible without our amazing network of friends, teachers, administrators, partners, and people like you! Join us in fanning the flames of sustainability and innovation in the classroom and be sure to keep up to date with the exciting new adventures ahead!
