I am EcoRise’s Board Chair, Dr. Heather Hairston, and I am writing to thank you for being a part of our community. If this is your first introduction to EcoRise, I want to welcome you to a community of educators, social justice leaders, and advocates who believe that a better future must be led by today’s youth. If you are a current supporter, thank you for investing in resources for students, professional development for teachers, and opportunities for communities to become change agents in solving problems that matter most to them—and ultimately to all of us.
At EcoRise, we collaborate with educators and community organizations to provide opportunities for a diverse network of student leaders to take climate action, cultivate community resilience, and participate in the new green economy. We couldn’t do this work without our supporters. When you support our work, you become a part of a community where justice and access to education drive our decisions. You are joining a movement that sees the potential in educators to lead, like our Teacher Ambassadors have been doing this fall, and the potential of students to solve challenges that matter most to communities, like each of our Eco-Audit Grant awardees. Your support reduces barriers to intergenerational collaboration in service of a better, safer, kinder planet.
I can go on about how wonderful it is to be a part of this community, but I’d like to extend the invitation to you so that you may experience it for yourself or invite someone new to join our movement. Last week, we launched our annual giving campaign. We aim to raise $20,000 to bring our programs to even more educators and students in 2025 and grow the community supporting our movement. We could use your help reaching our goal. Support our movement by making a donation before the end of 2024, and our Leadership Circle Matching Fund will triple your gift and your impact! Another way to help is by sharing this blog with a loved one or on social media to help our movement grow.
